lSEX LOREl Kyla’s planet has 3 sexes/genders (well, 2 sexes but one is split into 2 subtypes). Typical “pairings” involve 3 people. Males are always submissive, while females like Kyla take on either a dominant or submissive role. Males have a penis which is usually quite small/narrow. Females have an ovipositor, which has a pipe leading to egg production, and one leading to a semen storage receptacle. They also have a vagina beneath the ovipositor, which is very small and well concealed (you would hardly know it’s there unless told) and leads to a womb. Typical reproduction involves a submissive male penetrating the dominant female’s ovipositor to deposit his sperm. The female can store this sperm for an incredibly long time (like how guppies do, but instead of months they can store it for up to several years). The dominant female then lays eggs into the submissive female’s womb, which are fertilized by injecting the stored sperm after egg-laying is complete. Most of these eggs will not be viable, and will be expelled after fertilization, once the few that are viable have implanted themselves into the uterus.Kyla’s species can store the genetic information of others for a considerably long time, and thus do not need a partner to fertilize each batch of eggs; only one to use as an incubator. Kyla in particular was filled with copious amounts of semen from multiple diverse partners before she left her home planet, so that she would have no issues finding a mate to fertilize her eggs.Dominant females are stronger than the other two sexes, who are typically around the same in terms of strength. Usually in a dominant female their vagina and uterus will have atrophied to some degree, and in submissive females the same can be said of their ovipositor. Submissive females do not produce eggs, but depending on environmental changes those parts can be reactivated, turning them into dominant females (kind of like how clownfish sexes work) and vice versa, though it is more difficult for a dominant female to become submissive as this requires turning off their egg production.Males are usually afraid of dominant females. The submissive females often pretend to be dominant to avoid harassment in public. Sometimes males will even pretend to be dominant females for the same reason. Rape does happen, typically with dominant females being the aggressor against the other sexes, but occasionally males will attack submissive females. This never results in pregnancy or fertilization, because if he sticks it in her ovipositor there are no eggs being produced, so she just stores the sperm until it expires, and if he sticks it in her vagina there need to be eggs there to be fertilized. If she is already carrying eggs, they will already have been fertilized by the dominant female.Kyla is, of course, a dominant female.
